There is little knowledge about what motivates resistance to COVID-19 vaccinations. We surveyed N = 2,569 participants about vaccine-related attitudes, including pandemic fatigue, vaccine hesitancy, severity and susceptibility, and vested interests. Results show that Republican women are over-represented in a group that never intends to be vaccinated. Participants whose political affiliation is “other” reported similar attitudes across the observed variables. Two reasons for resisting vaccines are fear of side effects and the belief that the vaccine was produced too fast. Implications for messaging strategies are discussed. Read it here.
