Possible Flights between US and Iran

Following his conciliatory speech at the UN, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani raised the possibility of resuming direct flights between Iran and the US. Direct flights between the two countries have not occurred in more than three decades.

While President Rouhani has made headlines, Mohammad Javad Zarif is almost as important. Zarif is Iran’s foreign minister and chief negotiator over Iran’s nuclear program. His unique position and history will be a determinative factor in the negotiations.
South Korean President Criticizes Japan

Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel visited South Korea today, and met with South Korean President Park Geun-hye. During the meeting, Park criticized Japan for its stance on the ownership of some tiny islets.
Syria’s Government ‘Efficient’
