Raising young professionals’ awareness of defense and national security issues
Next Generation Foreign Policy Network (NextGen FPN) is a new association in Washington, DC. It is the DC branch of the ANAJ-IHEDN (www.anaj-ihedn.org/english), the only national association of young professionals in France focused on global defense and foreign policy issues.

In Washington, NextGen FPN aims to bring together young leaders to raise their awareness of defense and national security issues, to help foster a better understanding of key challenges across cultures and nations, and to participate in fun, dynamic exchanges with distinguished and experienced speakers.

NextGen FPN events will be graciously hosted by the French Embassy, and will be followed by a brief cocktail featuring French wines and snacks. So come sink your teeth in meaty foreign policy discussions, and enjoy savory real-life anecdotes and refreshing perspectives on key international issues of today and tomorrow!

All events will be moderated by Colin Geraghty, adjunct junior fellow with the American Security Project.

NextGen FPN’s first event, “A 21st century concept of peace – as defined by a lifetime warrior,” will take place on February 6, 2013, with Robert DuBois, former Navy SEAL and author of Powerful Peace – A Navy SEAL’s Lessons on Peace from a Lifetime at War.

Other events will focus issues ranging from U.S.-Russia ties to Afghanistan to health diplomacy.
