ASP’s research on drones is cited in the New York Times.  Drawing on Joshua Foust and Ashley Boyle’s paper, “The Strategic Context of Lethal Drones,” a roundtable discussion held at ASP’s offices, and a fact sheet on the subject, the piece asks whether drone strikes are worth the costs they incur.

“Conventional wisdom seems to suggest that drones are a useful and effective way of combating the likes of the Taliban and Al Qaeda, especially in remote terrain and difficult warscapes. Get in, gather the intel, launch a surgical strike, get out, no troops lost…But security analysts and scholars say the debate on drones is far from clear and far from over, and on Monday the American Security Project hosted a valuable discussion on the issue.
