LtGen Norman Seip of 12th Air Force, an ASP Consensus Member, was quoted in Navy Times talking about the need for the U.S. military to have fuel options. The military’s investments in biofuels as an alternative to oil are under threat from Congress, a program that could reduce the military’s exposure to oil price spikes. Gen. Seip stressed that the military’s dependence on oil leaves it with no options. From the article:

Former Air Force Lt. Gen. Norm Seip agreed and said energy flexibility is the key to America’s national security. “When I say flexibility, I mean choices — choices that allow us to have alternative fuels, choices that allow us to make our combat capabilities our edge,” Seip said.
