Recent reports by the American Security Project and the Harvard Business School reveal that American competitiveness is slipping, posing a severe threat to our country’s national security. Join our panel of experts as they discuss these challenges and potential solutions to restore America to a position of global leadership in the 21st century.
Speakers:
Dr. Michael E. Porter, the Bishop William Lawrence University Professor at the Harvard Business School. A leading authority on competitive strategy, Dr. Porter was the recipient of the first Lifetime Achievement Award in Economic Development from the U.S. Department of Commerce in 2008.
Dr. Jan W. Rivkin, the Bruce V. Rauner Professor and chair of the Strategy Unit at the Harvard Business School. Dr. Rivkin is a member of the U.S. Competitiveness Project at HBS and an expert in cross-functional integration.
Mr. Norman R. Augustine, the retired chairman and CEO of Lockheed Martin and American Security Project board member. Mr. Augustine was formerly the Secretary of the Army and has received numerous awards including the National Medal of Technology from the President of the United States.
Mr. Dante Disparte, the President of the Harvard Business School Club of Washington DC. He is also the Managing Director of Partner Solutions at Clements Worldwide. Mr. Disparte is credited with designing the world’s first card-based life insurance program for the United Nations.
Lieutenant General John Castellaw USMC (Ret), the President of the Crockett Policy Institute. Lieutenant General Castellaw served in the United States Marine Corps for 36 years prior to his retirement in 2008. He now oversees the non-partisan policy and research activities of CPI which center around the betterment of Tennesseans lives.
Brigadier General Stephen A. Cheney, USMC (Ret.), ASP CEO (Moderator). General Cheney has over 30 years experience as a Marine and served as the President/CEO of the Marine Military Academy.
